2) Setup: Download and Install Software

Only do this step if the software needs to be installed or updated.

A) Download the Software

Find the latest software here.  Software is available for Mac, PC, Linux, and Android systems. Software updated 11/24/2020 Download the software for free, here.

Attention Mac Users:  If you receive “Install AsebaXX.pkg can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer”, follow these directions.

Optional: Set up the Remote Control

Use these instructions to set up the remote control.  And here is a video:

B) Update the Thymio Firmware (for older Thymio Robots only)

If you have had your Thymio for a while and want to use the newest software, you may need to update your Firmware.  Here are instructions for how to upgrade your firmware with the “Thymio Firmware Upgrader”  that is included with the above versions of Aseba Studio.  If you need the most recent Firmware or further instructions, see this page on updating the Thymio Firmware and the new features.

C) Optional: Download and Transfer Sound Files to MicroSD card
