1)Watch Video & Follow Along:

Do Challenge 1: add.. Stop robot when lifted off ground

*Challenge cannot be done with simulated Thymio, only real Thymio Robot (Simulated Thymio cannot be lifted off ground)

Do Challenge 2: add.. Stop robot and turn top red when object or hand placed in front of Thymio

Do Challenge 3: add.. if it hears a noise, turn the bottom lights on to white

*Challenge cannot be done with simulated Thymio, only real Thymio Robot (Simulated Thymio does not have sound)

Do Challenge 4: add.. if it gets tapped, make a noise

*Challenge cannot be done with simulated Thymio, only real Thymio Robot (Simulated Thymio does not have sound)

2)Extra challenge: Create a Robot that follows your hand

  • Have the robot turn towards what ever direction your hand is in, and stop when your hand isn’t in front of it
  • Bonus, have it change a different color depending on where the hand is in relation to the robot

Additional Help/ FAQ’s:

  • If side panel disappears and “load” and “run” buttons are gone, you will need to close and reopen Aseba Studio to connect to Aseba.
  • You cannot edit code if VPL window is open.  Once you close VPL window and edit code, you can no longer edit VPL code. If you try to, it will erase your old code and start new.
  • The motors produce noise and are located next to the microphone, so if you program the robot to move when it hears noise, it may not stop.
  • If the robot is moving fast the robot may shake a bit and trigger the accelerometer or “tap sensor”.
